Dr. Leech graduated in 1980 from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon, and has been in private practice in Douglas County for the past 26 years. Before Optometry school, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Southern Oregon University in 1974 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center in 1975.
Dr. Leech also received his Law degree from Northwestern College of Law at Lewis and Clark College in 1986. Dr. Leech has held various positions in the community, including the Board of Directors for Central Douglas County YMCA and Umpqua Valley Community Projects.
He has been active in Boy Scouts of America for 18 years, including Chairman of the Douglas Fir District, and is currently a Scoutmaster. He has also been a member of the Roseburg Rotary Club for 16 years. Dr. Leech has been married to Julie for 26 years with two grown sons and a new grandson born in August of this year.
He enjoys many outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, and running. In 2012, he finished his first 100-mile race, the Rio Del Lago Ultramarathon.
Dr. Leech believes that the foundation of quality eye care is a healthy doctor-patient relationship. Taking pleasure in providing the highest quality of personal care for each patient, his goal is to provide an engaging and comfortable environment to satisfy the visual needs and requirements of each patient.
